  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Substitute with gluten-free flour if needed
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and ensure the butter is at room temperature.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a heart-shaped baking pan thoroughly, optionally lining the bottom with parchment paper.

Mixing Batter

  • Melt the unsalted butter until completely liquefied and let it cool slightly.
  • In a bowl, mix the melted butter with the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Fold gently until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared heart-shaped pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until edges are firm and center is slightly soft.
  • Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into heart shapes.
