  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Chocolate chips Optional, for topping

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and measure them accurately. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped baking pan.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter while stirring continuously until glossy.
  • Remove from heat and mix in the granulated sugar.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring vigorously until smooth and slightly frothy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture into the wet ingredients while stirring.
  • Spread the brownie batter evenly into the greased heart-shaped pan.
  • Optional: Sprinkle chocolate chips on top for added chocolatey flavor.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with moist crumbs.
  • Let the brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes before cutting into heart shapes.
  • Serve as is or with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days, or refrigerate them for longer freshness. For freezing, wrap individually in plastic wrap.
