Base Ingredients

  • 2 slices Whole grain bread Use gluten-free bread if needed.

Toast Toppings

  • 1 ripe Avocado Make sure it's ripe for easy mashing.
  • 1 medium Tomato, sliced Freshly chopped.
  • 2 tablespoons Hummus Optional to use store-bought or homemade.
  • 2 tablespoons Nut butter Can substitute with sunflower seed butter or tahini.
  • 1 slice Banana, sliced Sliced into rounds.
  • 1 tablespoon Chia seeds Sprinkle over to add crunch.
  • 1 cup Spinach, fresh Washed and set aside.
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil Drizzle over avocado.
  • to taste none Salt Elevates flavors.
  • to taste none Pepper For seasoning.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Make sure your avocado is ripe and your veggies are fresh. Wash and slice them accordingly.
  • Slice the bananas into rounds, chop the tomatoes, and wash the spinach.

Toasting

  • Place the whole grain bread slices in a toaster or under a broiler until they’re golden brown and crisp.

Assembling the Toast

  • In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork and spread it generously on one slice of toast.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper over the mashed avocado and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Spread hummus liberally on the second slice of toast.
  • Top the hummus toast with sliced tomatoes and the spinach leaves.
  • On the leftover toast, spread nut butter evenly and top with sliced bananas.
  • Sprinkle chia seeds over each slice of toast.
  • Serve immediately while the bread is still warm.

Customization

  • Feel free to mix and match toppings to find your favorite combinations.

Notes

These toppings can be made ahead of time and stored separately. Store leftovers in airtight containers. Toast is best consumed fresh.
