Ingrédients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Filling & Topping

  • 1/2 cup guava jam or paste
  • powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream together softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt, then gradually add to the wet mixture to form a soft dough.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create a small indent.
  • Fill each indent with a small amount of guava jam, being careful not to overfill.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

You can substitute guava jam with mango, apricot, or passionfruit jam. For a vegan version, use dairy-free cream cheese and butter, and replace the egg yolk with a flax egg.
