Ingrédients
  

Ground Beef Orzo

  • 1 lb ground beef lean preferred
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz can
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions
 

  • Gather all ingredients. Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon until cooked through.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes along with their juices. Mix well.
  • Pour in the beef broth and add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Add the orzo pasta, stirring well to distribute evenly. Reduce heat to low and cover.
  • Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
  • Serve hot, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and optional fresh herbs.

Notes

You can replace ground beef with turkey or chicken for a lighter version, or use plant-based alternatives for a vegetarian twist. Add vegetables like spinach, zucchini, or bell peppers for extra nutrition. For a spicier version, mix in red pepper flakes or jalapeños.
