Ingrédients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey Use lean ground turkey for best results.
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped Can be substituted with parsley or mint.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium juice of 1 lemon Fresh lemon juice is recommended.
  • 8 pieces skewers Metal or soaked wooden skewers.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Finely chop the onion and cilantro, and mince the garlic. Soak the wooden skewers in water if using, to prevent burning on the grill.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey with the chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Shaping

  • Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into elongated patties around each skewer. Press firmly to ensure they stay intact while grilling.

Grilling

  • Preheat the grill to medium heat. Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

Resting and Serving

  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving hot, either on their own or with your favorite dipping sauces like tzatziki or hummus.

Notes

For best results, avoid overmixing the meat to keep the texture tender. Soak wooden skewers for at least 30 minutes before grilling. Adjust spices to your taste preference for added flavor.
