Ingrédients

For the Fish Cubes

  • 1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia, cut into bite-sized cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional)

For the Tartar Dip

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon capers (minced, optional)
  • To taste salt and pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the countertop. Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized cubes, mince the garlic, and chop the fresh parsley.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, paprika, lemon juice, and parsley. Mix well to create a marinade.
  • Add the fish cubes to the marinade and stir until all pieces are coated. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat with a bit of olive oil.
  • Add the marinated fish cubes in a single layer and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and flaky.
  • Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate.

Tartar Dip Preparation

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, dill pickle relish, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and minced capers. Mix until well blended and seasoned to taste.

Serving

  • Transfer fish cubes to a serving platter, garnish with additional parsley, and serve alongside the tartar dip.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add hot sauce to the marinade. This dish can also be served on shredded lettuce or with potato wedges.
