Preparation

  • Step 1: Trim the ends off the fresh green beans and wash them under cold water.
  • Step 2: Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil.
  • Step 3: Add the green beans to the boiling water and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 4: Drain the green beans and transfer them to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process.

Cooking

  • Step 5: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute.
  • Step 6: Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Step 7: Mix in lemon zest and lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 8: Serve warm and enjoy the vibrant flavors.

Notes

For extra flavor, top with toasted almonds or add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. This recipe can be easily customized with your choice of herbs.
