Main Ingredients

  • 1 medium head medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 pound pound of ground beef
  • 1 packet (1 oz) packet of taco seasoning
  • 2 cups cups of Fritos Use fresh for best crunch.
  • 1 cup cup of shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • 1 onion onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper bell pepper, diced

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Chop the cabbage, dice the onion and bell pepper, and set aside.

Cooking the Base

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, onion, and bell pepper. Cook for 6-8 minutes until beef is browned and vegetables are soft. Drain excess fat.

Adding Tomatoes and Seasoning

  • Stir in the diced tomatoes and taco seasoning. Mix thoroughly and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Incorporating Cabbage

  • Add the chopped cabbage, coating it with the seasoned meat and tomatoes. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until cabbage is tender.

Final Touches

  • Add Fritos and mix gently. Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and cook for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.

Serving

  • Serve hot, making sure everyone gets a bit of all the layers.

Notes

To keep Fritos crunchy, add them just before serving. Can be easily adjusted for dietary preferences by substituting proteins and adjusting vegetables.
