  • 2 fillets white fish (such as cod or haddock) Choose firm white fish for best results.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg beaten For coating the fish.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended) Use panko for extra crunch.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika Optional for added flavor.
  • oil for frying oil Use oil with a high smoke point.

For the Burger

  • 2 pieces burger buns Choose your preferred type.
  • 1 leaf leafy lettuce (such as romaine or butter lettuce) For freshness.
  • 2 slices tomato
  • to taste tartar sauce Can be adjusted based on preference.

Preparation

  • Rinse and pat dry the fish fillets to remove excess moisture.
  • Combine flour, salt, pepper, and paprika in a shallow bowl.
  • Beat the egg in another bowl and set aside.
  • Pour breadcrumbs into a third bowl for dredging.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Dredge each fish fillet in flour, dip it in the egg, and coat it in breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the fish fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Drain them on paper towels.

Assembly

  • Toast the burger buns lightly.
  • Place a fried fish fillet on the bottom half of each bun.
  • Add lettuce, tomato slices, and tartar sauce.
  • Top with the other half of the bun.
