  • Gather all your other ingredients, like the ricotta, mozzarella, egg, and ground turkey.

Cooking the Turkey

  • In a skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground turkey, seasoning it with salt, pepper, and a teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
  • Cook until the turkey is browned and fully cooked, which should take about 8-10 minutes.

Preparing the Ricotta Mixture

  • In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly blended, adding a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
  • Set this mixture aside.

Layering the Dish

  • In your baking dish, begin layering by spreading a thin layer of marinara sauce at the bottom.
  • Follow this with a layer of zucchini slices, then the ground turkey mixture, and finally the ricotta mixture.

Final Assembly

  • Continue layering the ingredients in the same order—marinara sauce, zucchini, ground turkey, and ricotta mixture—until all your ingredients are used.
  • Your last layer should consist of zucchini on top.
  • Spread a final layer of marinara sauce on top of the zucchini and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

Baking
