  • 2 pounds chicken pieces bone-in or boneless
  • 1 cup buttermilk for marinating
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 2-3 cups vegetable oil for frying

  • 20 assorted macarons any flavors of choice

Instructions
 

  • Gather all ingredients and utensils. Rinse and pat dry the chicken pieces.
  • Place the chicken in a bowl, pour the buttermilk over it, and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create the coating mixture.
  • Remove chicken from the buttermilk and coat each piece evenly in the flour mixture. Shake off any excess.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry chicken in batches for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove chicken with tongs and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Arrange macarons into bouquet shapes using skewers or decorative sticks, combining them with the fried chicken pieces for a creative and romantic presentation.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour. You can add a hint of cayenne or chili powder for a spicy twist. To elevate presentation, include edible flowers or herbs in your bouquet. Serve with coleslaw or mashed potatoes for a full meal.
