Quiche Base

  • 1 pie crust 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 large 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute half-and-half for lighter version

Filling

  • 1 cup 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini work well)
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheese (Gruyère or cheddar recommended)
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled Can substitute with additional vegetables for vegetarian option
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • to taste Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients. Chop the mushrooms, dice the onion, and crumble the cooked bacon. Ensure the pie crust is laid out in the pie dish.

Cooking Base

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the diced onions and sliced mushrooms, sautéing for 5-7 minutes until softened.

Oven Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Egg Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until well combined and frothy.

Combine Ingredients

  • Fold in the shredded cheese, sautéed mushrooms, diced onions, and crumbled bacon into the egg mixture.

Bake Quiche

  • Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes until golden-brown.

Cooling and Serving

  • Once baked, cool for about 10 minutes then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Great for meal prepping.
