Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter
  • Butter knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingrédients

Main Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices bread white, whole-grain, or your choice
  • 4-6 slices cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or any melting cheese
  • 2-3 tbsp butter softened, for grilling

Instructions

  • Gather all your ingredients and have your skillet and cookie cutter ready. Cut the cheese slices to fit the heart-shaped bread.
  • Preheat your skillet over medium heat for an even golden-brown finish.
  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread generously.
  • Use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut each slice of bread into heart shapes. Pair them for sandwiches.
  • Place one buttered heart (buttered side down) on the skillet, add cheese, and top with another buttered heart (buttered side up).
  • Cook the first side until golden brown and crisp (about 2–4 minutes).
  • Flip carefully and cook the other side until golden and the cheese has melted (another 2–4 minutes).
  • Remove from skillet and serve warm. Pair with tomato soup or salad for a complete meal.

Notes

To make them vegan, use plant-based cheese and butter. For a gluten-free version, opt for gluten-free bread. You can also add extras like tomatoes, spinach, or pesto for extra flavor. Serve warm for best results!
