  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Preparation

  • Begin your baking adventure by organizing all your ingredients on the counter and measuring them.

Cook the Base

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with the brown and granulated sugars and whisk together until smooth.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients

  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.

Fold in Chocolate Chips

  • Fold in the chocolate chips and any optional add-ins that you desire.

Prepare the Baking Dish

  • Grease a 9-inch pie dish with nonstick spray or butter.

Spoon the Dough Into the Dish

  • Spoon the cookie dough into the prepared pie dish and spread it out evenly.

Bake the Pie

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the pie for 35–45 minutes.
  • Keep an eye on the edges; they should become golden brown while the center remains slightly soft.

Notes
