Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Dice the chicken breasts finely and mince the garlic and ginger.
  • Thinly slice the green onions and set them aside for later.

Cooking the Chicken

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Once hot, toss in the diced chicken.
  • Cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is no longer pink.
  • Stir in the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger. Continue cooking for another 2 to 3 minutes until chicken is glazed and coated.

Preparing the Slaw

  • In a mixing bowl, combine coleslaw mix, sliced green onions, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and honey.
  • Toss until the coleslaw mix is evenly coated with the dressing.

Baking the Wonton Shells

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • Lightly spray the underside of a muffin tin with cooking spray. Drape wonton wrappers over the inverted muffin cups.
  • Bake for about 5 to 7 minutes until crisp and golden.

Assembly

  • Carefully remove baked wonton shells from the muffin tin and fill each with the cooked chicken mixture followed by the prepared slaw.
  • Drizzle with sweet chili sauce and top with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds.

Serving

  • Serve immediately while the shells are still crisp as an appetizer, snack, or main course.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the chicken to prevent dryness, and assemble tacos just before serving to maintain crunch. Consider adding lime juice for extra flavor.
