For the Donuts

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk Can use non-dairy milk for dairy-free option
  • 1 large egg Can substitute with flaxseed meal or banana for vegan option
  • 2 tbsp melted butter Can use dairy-free butter for dairy-free option
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients to create a smooth baking process.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until you have a smooth batter.
  • Lightly grease your donut mold.
  • Spoon the batter into the greased donut mold, filling each well about halfway.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the filled mold in the air fryer basket and cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown.
  • Let the donuts cool in the mold for a moment before carefully removing them.
  • Allow them to cool briefly on a wire rack and serve as desired.

Notes

Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. They can be frozen for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F until warmed through. Avoid overmixing to prevent dense donuts.
