Cake Base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cups milk can substitute with almond or coconut milk
  • 3.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs can substitute with applesauce or flaxseed meal
  • to taste red food coloring

Decoration

  • to taste black fondant for decoration
  • to taste buttercream icing for decoration

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients, bringing butter, eggs, and milk to room temperature.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your lobster-shaped cake pan.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Incorporate red food coloring to achieve desired lobster color.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decoration

  • Once cooled, decorate the cake with buttercream icing and black fondant.

Notes

Store properly in an airtight container. Can be frozen and reheated.
