Ingrédients
  

For the Steak Strips

  • 1 pound Flank steak, sliced into thin strips Can substitute with sirloin or ribeye.
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Substitute with gluten-free flour if desired.
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch) Ensure gluten-free if necessary.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • Salt to taste Salt, to taste
  • Pepper to taste Pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for frying Use enough for 1/4 inch depth in the skillet.

For the Tartar Cream

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Substitute with vegan mayo if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons Dill pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Capers, rinsed and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste Salt, to taste
  • Pepper to taste Pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and slice the flank steak into thin strips.
  • Pre-chop dill pickles, capers, and parsley for the tartar sauce.

Breading Station Setup

  • Create a breading station with three shallow dishes.
  • Place flour in one dish, whisk the eggs in the second, and combine breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in the third.

Coating Steak Strips

  • Dredge each steak strip in flour, dip into the whisked eggs, then coat with the seasoned panko mixture.

Frying

  • In a skillet, heat vegetable oil to a depth of about 1/4 inch over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the steak strips for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer cooked strips to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Tartar Cream Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, dill pickles, capers, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and parsley until well combined.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  • Arrange crispy steak strips on a serving platter with the tartar cream in a bowl.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Optional Garnishes

  • Serve with lemon wedges for an added refreshing touch.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add chili powder or cayenne to the breadcrumb mixture. Marinate steak for enhanced flavor.
