  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts Trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with avocado or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Can be substituted with onion powder
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional for enhancing flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts, cutting off the stems and halving each sprout.

Washing and Drying

  • Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry thoroughly.

Toss with Oil and Seasonings

  • In a large bowl, add the halved Brussels sprouts and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the top, tossing to coat evenly.

Roasting

  • Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer with cut sides facing down.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through for even cooking.
  • Check for a golden color and crispy edges and roast a few more minutes if they are soft.

Serving

  • If desired, sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the hot Brussels sprouts after roasting.
  • Allow to cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

For a vegan version, omit the cheese or use nutritional yeast. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
