  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half or coconut milk
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes Fresh tomatoes can be used; adjust cooking time
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil Fresh basil can be used for more flavor
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Chop the onion and mince the garlic, ensuring they’re ready to go.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Save some pasta water for later.

Cooking

  • In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the mixture becomes fragrant and the onions are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Once the base is ready, add the crushed tomatoes along with the dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Slowly stir in the heavy cream after the sauce has simmered. Cook for an additional 5 minutes while stirring.
  • Add the cooked pasta directly to the pan and toss until well coated in the sauce. If the mixture seems too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Taste your Creamy Tomato Pasta and adjust seasonings if necessary.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy

  • Take a moment to appreciate your creation before digging in and share it with friends or family.
