  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Be careful not to burn.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Optional substitutions: half-and-half or evaporated milk.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Nutritional yeast can be used as a dairy-free substitute.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and tools to prepare for cooking.

Cooking

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package instructions, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat for about a minute.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and continue stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Taste and season with additional salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking shrimp and burning garlic. You can customize the pasta with seasonal vegetables or spices.
