Ingrédients
  

Shrimp and Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined Approximately 450g
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided Used in both the mashed potatoes and sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (for sauce)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 bunch Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Mashed Potatoes Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled & chunked
  • ½ cup heavy cream (for mashed potatoes)
  • ¼ cup milk (for mashed potatoes)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Ensure your shrimp are peeled and deveined.
  • Chop your potatoes into even chunks for uniform cooking.

Cooking the Potatoes

  • Boil salted water in a large pot. Once boiling, add the chunked potatoes.
  • Cook potatoes for about 15 minutes until fork-tender.

Making Mashed Potatoes

  • Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of butter, ½ cup of heavy cream, and ¼ cup of milk.
  • Mash until smooth, seasoning with salt and pepper. Keep warm.

Cooking the Shrimp

  • In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet.
  • Sauté shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  • Set aside on a plate.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, lower the heat and melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and ½ cup of chicken broth.
  • Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Mix in ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

Combining Ingredients

  • Return cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce for 1 minute.

Serving

  • On each plate, serve a generous portion of creamy mashed potatoes.
  • Top with shrimp and sauce, garnishing with fresh parsley.

Notes

For best results, use fresh shrimp and adjust seasoning to taste. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days.
