Ingrédients

For the Sangria Base

  • 1 bottle red wine (750 ml) Choose a fruity red wine.
  • 2 cups cranberry juice For a non-alcoholic version, use cranberry juice.
  • 1 cup apple cider You can use a sweeter cider if desired.
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec) Adds a citrus layer.

For the Fruits

  • 1 cup sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Cut thin to soak flavors.
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries Can substitute with dried cranberries if needed.

For Fizz

  • 1 cup club soda Add just before serving for fizz.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by washing and slicing your apples. Make sure they are thin enough to soak up the delicious flavors but thick enough to hold their shape.
  • Rinse the fresh cranberries and set everything aside for assembling later.

Mixing Base

  • In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, cranberry juice, and apple cider. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.
  • Allow it to sit for a few minutes so that the flavors meld together.

Add Liqueur

  • Pour in the orange liqueur and stir to incorporate.

Incorporate Fruits

  • Add the sliced apples and fresh cranberries to the pitcher. Stir gently to ensure that the fruits are well distributed.

Chill

  • Cover the pitcher with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. If you have time, letting it sit overnight can enhance flavors.

Finish with Fizz

  • Once you’re ready to serve, add the club soda to the pitcher. Stir gently to combine without losing too much carbonation.

Serve

  • Prepare your glasses by filling them with ice. Pour the sangria over the ice, ensuring everyone gets a nice mix of the fruits and liquid.
  • Garnish with a slice of apple or a few cranberries on top for added visual appeal.

Notes

Store any leftover sangria in a sealed pitcher in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Add club soda before serving again to maintain fizz. For a sweeter taste, increase the apple cider or use a sweeter wine.
