Ingrédients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Walnuts or pecans recommended.

Glaze

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For glaze.
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk For glaze consistency.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and ensure the butter is at room temperature. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mixing

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until smooth.
  • Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped nuts if using.

Baking

  • Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet with enough space in between for spreading.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are soft.

Glazing

  • In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar and milk until you reach a desired consistency for drizzling. Once cookies are cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For freezing, wrap individually and store in a freezer-safe bag.
