Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  • Melt the butter gently in the microwave or stovetop, then mix it with the mashed bananas.
  • Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana-butter mixture and mix until smooth.
  • In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, espresso powder, and salt.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days; freeze for longer storage. Consider adding nuts or spices for variations.
