  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup herbs (like parsley or chives), chopped Fresh herbs enhance the flavor.

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure the butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder together until well combined.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter with the shredded cheese until smooth and well blended.
  • Add the dry flour mixture to the cheese and butter mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  • Using your thumb, gently press into the center of each ball to create a thumbprint.
  • Arrange the thumbprint dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with dips such as salsa or hummus. These appetizers can also be customized with various cheeses or herbs for different flavors.
