Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Feel free to mix different cheeses.
  • 0.5 cup pepperoni slices Or substitute with other protein or veggies.
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash to create a golden crust.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano For added flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather and measure all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Dough Creation

  • Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the milk until a soft dough forms; do not overmix.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Cut out circles from the rolled dough using a round cutter.

Assembly

  • Spread approximately one tablespoon of pizza sauce on each dough circle.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal.
  • Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with oregano.

Baking

  • Place the pockets on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
