Cooking

  • Add the broccoli florets and stir for 3–4 minutes until softened but still crunchy.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and milk, stirring to combine, and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  • Stir in the orzo, cover, and simmer on low heat until the orzo is tender, about 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  • Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste.

Notes

For variations, consider adding red pepper flakes for heat, or using different proteins or vegetables according to your preferences. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days; reheat with a splash of milk or broth for best texture.
