  • 2 cans 14.5 oz each green beans, drained
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup You can use a gluten-free version if needed.
  • 1/2 cup milk Consider using almond or oat milk for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust as needed for flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Open and drain the green beans in a colander to remove excess liquid.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Stir until everything is well combined and smooth.
  • Add salt and pepper according to your liking.
  • Stir in 2/3 cup of the French fried onions.
  • Pour the mixture into a prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the remaining French fried onions on top.
  • Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.

Serving

  • Once baked, let it sit for a couple of minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. This dish can also be prepared ahead of time and stored unbaked, then baked just before serving.
