  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adjust based on desired spiciness.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 4 buns brioche Fresh buns preferred for best texture.
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Can substitute with dairy-free cheese for a dairy-free version.
  • 1/2 cup milk Use plant-based milk for dairy-free.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Used for cooking.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prep all your ingredients by dicing the onion and bell pepper, and mincing the garlic.

Cooking the Base

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onions and bell peppers, cooking for around 5 minutes until softened.

Add Garlic

  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Brown The Chicken

  • Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it into smaller pieces. Cook until browned and no longer pink, around 7-10 minutes.

Add Sauce and Seasonings

  • Stir in the tomato sauce, Cajun seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Allow to simmer on low for about 10 minutes.

Make the Cheese Sauce

  • In a small saucepan, melt additional butter to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk until it thickens, then add shredded cheddar cheese until melted.

Toast the Brioche Buns

  • Toast the brioche buns until golden brown using a toaster or skillet.

Assembly

  • Spoon the Cajun chicken mixture onto the bottom half of each brioche bun, drizzle with the creamy cheese sauce, and top with the bun.

Notes
