Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all ingredients for ease.

Cook the Sausage

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.

Make the Gravy

  • Add all-purpose flour to the skillet drippings, cook for 1 minute, then whisk in milk and cook until thickened (3-5 minutes).

Prepare the Casserole

  • Whisk eggs with salt and pepper in a separate bowl.
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters and layer in a greased casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle cooked sausage over biscuits.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the biscuits and sausage.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the casserole, ensuring even coverage.
  • Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set.

Notes

Allow the casserole to cool slightly before cutting. Can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
