Preparation

  • Gather and measure all your ingredients.
  • Clean the mushrooms and slice them.
  • Season your beef tenderloin steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cooking

  • Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the beef tenderloin steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness.
  • Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for about five minutes.
  • In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt before adding sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Pour in the beef broth to deglaze the skillet and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Slice the rested beef tenderloin into medallions, plate, and spoon the mushroom sauce over the top.
