  • 2 pieces chicken fillets, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup orzo pasta Rinse under cold water before use.
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar Use low-sugar option for dietary needs.
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste Always season generously.
  • Fresh basil for garnish Adds flavor and color.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Rinse the orzo pasta under cold water and set aside.
  • Pat the chicken fillets dry with paper towels.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken fillets, seasoning them generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until browned and fully cooked.
  • Once browned, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board.
  • In the same skillet, add chicken broth and balsamic vinegar. Stir to deglaze the pan and bring to a boil.
  • Add the orzo to the skillet, stir, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until tender.
  • Slice the rested chicken into strips.
  • After the orzo is cooked, stir in the sliced chicken.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently with chicken broth to maintain moisture.
