  • 1 wheel Brie cheese Use a good quality Brie for the best flavor.
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup For drizzling over Brie.
  • 1/4 cup nuts Roughly chopped, such as walnuts or pecans.
  • 1 serving Fresh fruit Such as apples or pears, for serving.
  • 1 egg Egg wash Beaten with a little water for brushing.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients and preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the sheet of puff pastry to about a quarter-inch thickness.
  • Carefully place the wheel of Brie in the center of the rolled-out pastry.
  • Drizzle the honey or maple syrup over the top of the Brie, followed by the chopped nuts.
  • Gently fold the pastry over the Brie, covering it entirely, and seal the seams well.
  • Brush the exterior of the pastry with the egg wash.

Baking

  • Transfer the pastry-wrapped Brie to a parchment-lined baking sheet, seam-side down.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

Serving

  • Prepare your fresh fruit on the side.
  • Transfer the Baked Brie to a serving platter, accompanied by the fresh fruit, and serve warm.

Notes

For optimal flavor, consider adding fresh herbs or spices before baking. Experiment with different nuts and fruit toppings for variety.
