For the wraps

  • 4 pieces Flour Tortillas (8-inch) Can use gluten-free tortillas as a substitute.
  • 3 pieces Apples (medium, peeled and sliced) Sweet varieties like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are best.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • â…“ cup Brown Sugar Plus extra for sprinkling on top.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Can replace with coconut oil for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • a pinch Salt

Preparation

  • Peel and slice the apples into thin pieces. Toss the apple slices with cinnamon and a sprinkle of brown sugar in a bowl.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

Assembly and Cooking

  • Warm a tortilla in the skillet for about 30 seconds.
  • Spoon a generous amount of the apple mixture onto one half of the tortilla and fold it over.
  • Roll it up tightly and pinch the ends to secure.
  • Cook in the skillet seam-side down for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, add brown sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt, and stir until bubbly and smooth.
  • Drizzle the brown sugar butter over the cooked wraps.
  • Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Best enjoyed immediately after cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
