Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients and pre-slice your apples into thin wedges.

Cooking the Base

  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar until it forms a bubbling, caramel-like mixture.
  • Add the sliced apples and cinnamon, cooking for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.

Preparing the Cake Batter

  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla until well blended.

Combining Ingredients

  • Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
