Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and ensure butter is softened.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and mint extract, mix until combined.
  • Incorporate food coloring to achieve a festive green color.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and peppermint candies.

Baking

  • Scoop dough onto baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
  • Flatten dough balls slightly with a fork.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack.
